Annual Advancement Appeal  -  This vital program was established to advance and to strengthen OCS/VCHS through funding for operations and special program support. This is our primary vehicle for bridging the gap between the cost of educating students and tuition received.

As an interdenominational school we are not funded by a single denomination or church. Our student body represents about 40 different area churches. We also do not receive government subsidy. We must rely on the charitable generosity of individuals, businesses, foundations and friends who value the betterment of children and the benefits of a quality Christian education.

Contributions for the Appeal and the following programs may be mailed or delivered to the school address listed below anytime during the calendar year. Please indicate on the check to which program you would like your gift applied. Thank you.

Corporate Matching Gifts – Did you know that your employer may match your donations or even your volunteer hours with monetary gifts?  Many corporations have these types of programs as a way to encourage service by their employees and to give back to the local community.  Check it out!

Oshkosh Christian School Endowment Fund – Your gift to the endowment fund is a gift that continues to give to the school through earned interest.  As this fund grows, it can support the school’s operation for a lifetime.  This fund is held and administered by the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation (OACF).  Gifts may be made to OCS/VCHS earmarked for the endowment fund or the same can be made directly to OACF.

Appreciated Assets – Gifts of appreciated assets such as stock or mutual fund shares, vehicles and real estate are encouraged.  These gifts may provide significant tax benefits to the donor as recommended by your professional financial advisor.

Planned Gifts – These are special types of gifts worthy of consideration. The following giving vehicles may provide significant tax and/or income benefits.

  • Retirement funds (IRA’s)
  • Life insurance
  • Bequests (via last will and testament)
  • Charitable Lead Trusts
  • Charitable Remainder Unitrusts and Annuity Trusts
  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Donor Designated Funds
  • Revocable trusts

The type of instrument best suited to the donor will depend on the needs and goals of the donor.  Please consult the advice of your professional financial advisor.

Oshkosh Academy for the Performing Arts Sponsorships -   Our summer community program is a proven winner for many children in the Fox Valley region. To make this available to more children we have endeavored to keep registration fees an affordable $150 for each child. This covers some, but not all, of the costs to provide a full-scale, professional, educational experience.

As a contributor, you will receive special benefits, depending on your giving level, as a token of our appreciation.  The benefits range from recognition in the summer program to complimentary advertisements and tickets to our summer performances.

This is an opportunity that benefits the whole community by bettering the lives of young people through the performing arts.

Tuition Assistance Sponsorships - This fund provides the opportunity for you to make a quality Christian education a reality for worthy students right here in our community.

Any amount is helpful in the life of a child. On average, the daily cost of a tuition scholarship for one child is $7, the monthly cost is $120, and the annual cost is $1,200. In 2007, we awarded scholarships to seventy-three children in thirty-seven families.

Every year many families qualify for tuition assistance. Without help, they simply could not afford a Christian education. We rely on the generous support of individuals and organizations to benefit the education of a child today.

Volunteering – There are many fun opportunities for parents, students, alumni, and friends to volunteer their time at OCS/VCHS. We highly value our volunteers! We recognize that without the sharing of their time and talents we could not continue to operate a quality program. A list of suggested volunteer opportunities may be obtained upon request. Volunteer applicants will be asked to fill out a background check form.

All of our families participate in the Universal Parent Involvement (UPI) program which requires each family to make an annual commitment of a minimum of either twenty hours of service to the school OR a $200 UPI buy-out OR a combination of both.

In-Kind Gifts – Every year the school is blessed with gifts of items useful to the school.  These are either utilized in the everyday operations of the school, in the classrooms, or in the facility. Gifts of items are also received for use during annual fundraising events such as the “Taste of Oshkosh” Dinner Auction or ongoing eBay auctions.  After receipt of the items you will receive a heartfelt thank you and a written acknowledgment of your gift for tax purposes.

Products into Cash – You can save receipts from local participating grocery stores: Festival Food, and  Pick 'n Save, and items such as milk caps, Campbell soup labels, General Mills “BoxTops for Education”, empty print cartridges and old cell phones . Please turn them in to the OCS/VCHS elementary office any time.  These unusable items will become usable cash for our school!

Fundraising Events – A number of exciting fundraising events are held throughout the year with the proceeds benefitting the operations of the school.   These are advertised internally through our own newsletters, website, and posters.  They are also announced via various media outlets and church bulletins throughout the community.  You are encouraged to come and enjoy the festivities and fellowship with the school’s families and friends.

Good news! Our school is recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and charitable gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.  We are also an accredited charity through the Better Business Bureau. For more information or to make a gift in any of the above ways, please call the Development Office at 920-231-9704 x24.
