Association of Christian Schools International

The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) has awarded accreditation to Oshkosh Christian School and Valley Christian High School.  We are now one of only three schools in Wisconsin to have earned this high level of recognition from ACSI.  The accreditation process involved a comprehensive self-study and analysis of our school’s educational standards and commitment to quality education.

ACSI was founded in 1978 by a number of Christian education associations committed to providing programs and services to serve Christian schools at every grade level.  Today, ACSI has grown to include 5,300 member schools in over 100 countries, serving nearly 1.2 million students.  Of the 37 ACSI member schools in the state of Wisconsin, three have been accredited by the organization.  The mission of ACSI is to “enable Christian educators and schools worldwide, to effectively prepare students for life.”

Working together with this worldwide organization, the accreditation process for Oshkosh Christian School/Valley Christian High School has involved a year-long process of self-examination and in-depth review of the school’s philosophy, instructional programs, facilities, and plans for improvement.   According to Todd Benson, Head Administrator for the school, “Accreditation provides our faculty, staff, students, parents, and the community with the assurance that we are achieving the excellence we claim to be striving for.”

With an increased enrollment for the 2007-08 school year, many students and families will benefit from the school’s newly achieved status.  As Mr. Benson reflects on this new level of recognition, he states, “Given the complexity of education today, accreditation provides a ‘peace of mind’ to all concerned that our organization is the best of the best.”
